WHEREAS schools in Canada should promote a safe physical and moral environment for students which includes zero tolerance towards violence and maintains high standards of personal moral behaviour by students;
AND WHEREAS it is not required that information available in school libraries be subject to review to ensure that such material conforms to any school policy of a safe physical and moral environment for students, and instead may include material promoting violence, cruelty, horror and sexual immorality;
BE IT RESOLVED that schools in Canada be required to implement policies promoting a safe physical and moral environment for students which includes zero tolerance towards violence an maintains high standards of personal behaviour by students;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that members of REAL Women of Canada be encourage to review materials placed in school libraries to ensure that the material conforms to the policies promoting a safe physical and moral environment for students.
