WHEREAS the notion that an individual may be born in the wrong sex is being promoted, and

WHEREAS the recommended treatment for this problem, called gender dysphoria (unhappiness with one’s biological sex), is medical intervention which includes hormone treatment and surgery to eliminate healthy body parts, and

WHEREAS there is no scientific evidence for this treatment.  It has not met the standard for medical care which includes proof of effect, absence of complications, prior animal experiments, and human trials, and

WHEREAS a study published in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) entitled The landscape of sex-differential transcriptome and its consequent selection in human adults, indicates that there are 1,559 genetic differences between males and females that relate not only to sexual organs, but also to other organs such as the brain, skin and heart, and

WHEREAS the current medical treatment for gender dysphoria does not affect the DNA or the reproductive system so that individuals remain male or female according to their sex at birth, and

WHEREAS medical practitioners continue to treat gender dysphoria by hormonal treatment, which includes puberty blockers to delay the onset of natural puberty, and by removing genital body parts, and

WHEREAS the primary puberty blocker drug Lupron, developed to treat prostate cancer and endometriosis, has not been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for gender dysphoria, and

WHEREAS the removal of healthy body parts and hormonal treatment for gender dysphoria causes irreversible harm, including sterility and loss of bone density, and

WHEREAS the official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (May 2018) published a study indicating that the majority of children with gender dysphoria have pre-existing underlying mental health issues such as autism, depression, anxiety, hyperactivity, eating disorders, and a tendency to self-harm, all of which require psychotherapy, and

WHEREAS children with gender dysphoria, who have not received medical intervention, naturally outgrow their gender confusion to accept their biological sex in 80 to 95% of cases, and

WHEREAS this medical practice for gender dysphoria has become a powerful industry earning billions of dollars for medical practitioners, pharmaceutical companies, and Big Tech (which wants to take over human reproduction with technology) and is backed up by mainstream media, and

WHEREAS European countries, such as the United Kingdom (UK), Finland, Sweden and France, which pioneered this treatment, have withdrawn from medical intervention as treatment for gender dysphoria, and recommend the use of psychotherapy as the first and primary treatment for children with gender dysphoria.

Be It Resolved that REAL Women of Canada write to the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and to the provincial and territorial medical associations to object to the current unethical and unscientific practice of medical intervention for treatment of gender dysphoria, and request that this medical intervention cease immediately.
