REALity – Volume XXIV Issue No. 11 November 2015

The World Congress of Families (WCF) held a Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 27th to 30th, 2015.  It was a smashing success.  There were 3,352 participants from 65 countries in attendance.

Participants were held spellbound by one powerful speaker after another. The 200 speakers included, researchers, scholars, lawmakers, government officials, clergy, religious leaders and pro-family advocates from around the world.  The Governor of Kansas, Sam Brownback, and the Governor of Utah, Gary Herbert, spoke at the conference.  The issues discussed were wide-ranging.  They included abortion, same-sex marriage, the pornography epidemic, population control, the attack on religious freedom, etc.  According to speaker Brian Brown, President of the National Organization for Marriage, the ruling by the US Supreme Court, legalizing same-sex marriage in the US, put a lie into the law.

The fascinating program, filled with national and world renowned speakers, panels, forums and training sessions, was interspersed with lively entertainment, including music as well as the pre-screening of upcoming family films. For example, on Thursday evening, October 29th, the musical mini-concert, performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, was magnificent.  We also had the privilege of being shown two new films which will be released in theatres in a few months.  One film, entitled God’s Not Dead2, will be released on April 1, 2016. It is a mesmerizing film about the religious persecution of Christians now taking place in the U.S.  The other film, called The Young Messiah, was a story about the childhood of Jesus. It is to be released in theatres around Easter, 2016.  Both of these films were a joy to watch.

The entire Congress was a marvellous antidote to the insanity which we are witnessing around us created by the media, governments and the courts.

It was inspiring and rewarding to witness the spirit, dedication and determination of thousands of individuals at the Conference from around the world, who are not succumbing to the pressures exerted by the politically correct, who are trying to control society but will never succeed.

The homosexual activists, of course, made every effort to prevent the Congress from taking place. They unsuccessfully attempted to pressure the hotel where the Conference was held to cancel its contract with the WCF, claiming that the latter was supposedly a hate group.  The heavily funded, erratic homosexual organization, The Human Rights Campaign, held a conference in Salt Lake City the week prior to the Congress, calling itself “The Inclusive Family Conference”.  This latter conference was used as a springboard to attempt to harass and intimidate the WCF conference, which it failed to do.  There were 30 homosexual activists registered at the WCF conference, but whether or not the truths or the spirit of the WCF Conference dampened their spirit, they certainly had no impact at all on the Conference.

All the attempts made by radical homosexual activists could not stop the energy and enthusiasm at the WCF conference. This conference was a tribute not only to the organizers and outstanding speakers, but also to the fact that honour, truth and integrity cannot be stopped.

The presentations made at the WCF-IX conference will be available at: www.WCF9.org.
