Over the years, the Canadian media have almost, without exception, promoted the anti-life and anti-family perspective.

It was a wonderful breakthrough, therefore, when Sun News Network (SNN) began to broadcast, providing a much more favorable coverage of our perspective.

Unfortunately the CRTC refused to give SNN a mandatory carriage license in order that it be carried widely throughout Canada.  By withholding the ‘must carry’ license from SNN, the network has been available in only four out of ten Canadian homes.  It has also been placed on the upper end of the dial so that it is not readily available for viewing.  This restriction by CRTC has led Quebecor, which owns SNN, to lose 17 million dollars per year.

SNN has now reapplied to the CRTC for a mandatory carriage license.  The decision is expected within the next thirty (30) days.

If the CRTC agrees to grant a ‘must carry’ license for SNN, this will greatly increase its coverage and will promote a much more balanced perspective for wide public viewing. This is a matter of great significance in our current culture wars.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could immediately take the following action in order to assist SNN in its application to the CRTC.

1.  Sign your name to an online petition to the CRTC requesting that it grant SNN a ‘must carry’ license.  Sign the petition at www.canadiantvfirst.ca.

2.  Please write to the CRTC and mail your letter before February 20, 2013, supporting SNN’s application for a full broadcast license.   The address is:

Secretary General of The Commission
CRTC
Ottawa, Ontario    K1A 0N2

Begin your letter stating either: (a) “I do not request to appear at the public hearing”, or (b) “I request to appear at the public hearing”.  Include reference #2012-0687-1 in your letter.

3.  Please distribute this e-mail as widely as possible.  Sun News Network is absolutely vital to the pro-life, pro-family cause.
