WHEREAS research indicates that a major reason for the differences in average wages and in the types of work performed by men and women result from the free choices of men and women, and not from systemic discrimination;

AND WHEREAS jurisdictions that have adopted so-called equal pay for work of equal value and genera quota laws have experienced higher taxes and higher cost of goods and services;

BE IT RESOLVED that REAL Women of Canada representatives meet with the provincial Ministers of Women’s Issues and the Labour Ministers, and present them with the evidence that equal pay for work of equal value laws and gender quotas are not justified.
