BACKGROUND:

Motion 312 was presented by MP Stephen Woodworth on February 6, 2012. It proposes that a Parliamentary committee review medical evidence to determine whether or not a child is a human being before birth. The motion also calls for the special committee to address the potential impact on Canada’s Criminal Code which states that a child becomes a human being only after the moment of complete birth.

It is important to understand that the motion is not a legislative proposal. It simply calls for a discussion of medical and scientific that exists today to demonstrate that a child is or is not a human being before the moment of complete birth.

A petition is available on MP Woodworth’s website at www.stephenwoodworth.ca. Please sign and collect signatures. Ask family, friends, associates, and church groups to sign the Petition.
