Mr. Trudeau recently stated, in reference to the defeat of US Democratic candidates Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, that, “. . . just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for a second time to not elect its first woman president. Everywhere, women’s rights and women’s progress is under attack. Overtly, and subtly”. This is an astonishing accusation in view of Trudeau’s treatment of former female cabinet ministers, Chrystia Freeland (Finance), Jody Wilson-Raybould (Attorney General) and Jane Philpott (Health). Make no mistake, none of the women dumped from Trudeau’s cabinet are martyrs for their beliefs, as they all had an extremist feminist agenda.
Trudeau ruthlessly kicks out anyone from his cabinet, whether they are feminists or males, who make the mistake of not doing what he tells them. He knows what he wants and when he wants it, and objects to anyone standing in his way.
In addition, Trudeau has a simplistic interpretation of voting patterns and of women. The fact is ballots are cast based on policies that matter to the voters such as the economy, immigration, inflation, jobs and housing.
Trudeau should move forward to understand that women, just like men, differ according to their social, economic, educational, cultural and religious backgrounds. It is the policies of the individual candidate that matter to the voter, not their gender. If the voter agrees with the candidate’s policies they will vote accordingly, regardless of the candidate’s gender. Voters simply prefer the policies of their candidates over their gender.
