WHEREAS the traditional heterosexual marital relationship forms the foundation of society in that it creates and raises the future generations of this country;
AND WHEREAS in recognition of the vital contribution and benefit to society provided by the traditional heterosexual relationship, such relationships are given specific family benefits to encourage them in their important responsibilities;
AND WHEREAS the homosexual and lesbian relationship because of its very nature cannot provide this vital contribution to society;
AND WHEREAS to give family benefits to homosexual and lesbian couples will discriminate against other family arrangements such as adult children living with parents or siblings living together;
AND WHEREAS family benefits are not an equality issue;
BE IT RESOLVED that family benefits not be extended to homosexual and lesbian unions.
