The push for abortion around the world is carried out by the International Abortion Network, which consists essentially of just six organizations. These are: The International Planned Parenthood Federation, the Washington based Population Council, the feminist Women Deliver organization, MSI Reproductive Choices (formerly Marie Stopes International), the DKT International based in India, and the Pathfinder International, operating in Africa, south Asia (India), and the Middle East.
These organizations claim that their purpose is only to provide healthcare to needy people. In fact, their real purpose is to engage in population control by providing abortion services around the world – especially in the developing world. Most of the latter countries, however, are deeply opposed to abortion due to their faith and culture. For example, Kenya, which is over 85% Christian, was recently surveyed and it was revealed that 83% of the population totally rejects abortion.
The International Abortion Network was funded, for over six decades, by the U.S. agency for international development, USAID. This agency was established in 1961 under President John Kennedy, and it was the face of American foreign aid, particularly in Africa. Its purpose was supposed to be to provide support for health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and governance. However, USAID quickly deteriorated into an agency to impose the western values of abortion, contraception, sex education and more recently transgenderism. Applying USAID money, the Abortion Network used NGOs to build structures, install programs, train technical personnel and forge alliances that have enabled it to provide, in dozens of poor countries, the anti-life/family agenda. Also, it joined in partnership with the UN whose bureaucrats and policies share a similar agenda. Together they became an effective force to achieve their objective of spreading abortion worldwide.
However, when Donald Trump was sworn in as President of the U.S. in January 2025, one of his first actions was to order a review of USAID. This review discovered that over $22 billion had been spent by USAID with widespread inefficiencies and used the funds to politicize issues in order to implant western values. As a result of this review, U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio announced, effective July 1, 2025, the end of USAID, which was then quickly dismantled.
The official end of USAID left the International Abortion Network reeling and in disarray. Consequently, on November 3-6, 2025, the Network met in Bogota, Columbia to regroup and to find a new pathway to continue its work on population control. The meeting at a luxury hotel was attended by more than 4,000 participants from more than 40 countries. The size of this event is an indication of the power and influence of the Abortion Network around the world which was sustained unknowingly, by the American taxpayer through USAID, for generations.
At this meeting, the network forged a future plan which it called “Family Planning 2030” (FP 2030). This plan was, in effect, formed to cause the disintegration of the family and human life in the developing world, i.e. population control. Its first decision was to enter into partnership with European governments to implement a policy that would cut humanitarian aid to poor countries that did not provide abortions for its citizens. At the meeting it was also agreed that NGOs would push the agenda on the ground by lobbying government officials and politicians. This approach was not surprising, as it has been successfully put in place in developing countries previously. REAL Women discovered this when attending UN meetings where we were surprised to witness some women from the developing world promoting abortion and anti-family policies. We quickly learned that these women were paid employees of USAID or by the all-powerful pro-abortion organizations working in their countries.
The meeting further decided that it would never again rely on funding from a single source such as they had done with USAID. Instead, the Network would obtain funding from wealthy left-wing pro-abortion Foundations in the U.S. These Foundations include the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, George Soros “Open Society”, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the affiliates of the William Buffet Foundation. Significantly, these same Foundations are currently funding the protests, marches and demonstrations in the U.S. against President Donald Trump’s policies. For example, the “No Kings” demonstration that took place in October 2025, and the demonstrations that recently took place in Minneapolis, were organized mainly by paid individuals (although not all) who were funded by these Foundations. These agitators in Minnesota, however, were also encouraged by their left-wing Democratic leaders in that state to harass and block law enforcement activity without consequences. These Foundations will be pleased to give financial backing to the Abortion Network. Such funding will be used by the Network to bribe governments and individual politicians to introduce legislation permitting abortion. The NGOs established by the abortion activists will then further the agenda by organizing demonstrations in support of abortion. This strategy has been successful in some countries under USAID, so it will now be continued by way of the Foundations’ support.
This entire operation will all take place behind the scenes, with foreign funding serving as the catalyst. The protests and marches in support of abortion legislation will not be populist or “spontaneous uprisings” but organized by the paid agitators. There will be little public debate, and the views of the public will be ignored.
Any financial assistance you can offer to help further the prolife / family work
of REAL Women of Canada will be deeply appreciated!
