When Merck pharmaceutical company placed the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, on the market, it set in motion a massive lobbying and advertising campaign to promote its sales. As a result, Merck now receives $20 billion a year globally for the sale of Gardasil.
The vaccine was supposed to protect young women from cervical cancer. Merck’s campaign to promote the vaccine played on fears of this cancer and the guilt, especially of mothers, who were advised to “protect your daughter”.
Slowly, however, the truth about Gardasil is coming out of the closet, exposing that the vaccine is a fraud.
In October 2, 2009, Dr. Diane Harper, the leading expert responsible for safety and effectiveness studies of Gardasil, pressed the red alert button on the devastating consequences and irrelevancy of Gardasil. She made this surprising confession at the 4th International Conference on Vaccination in Reston, Virginia. In her speech, Dr. Harper explained that the risk of cervical cancer is extremely low. In fact, she said, 70% of all HPV infections resolve themselves without treatment within a year and this number increases to 90% in two years. Further, she stated that cervical cancer is entirely curable when detected early through normal Pap screenings.
Dr. Harper also referred to the safety aspect of Gardasil, stating that all trials of the vaccines were done on children, aged 15 and above, despite the fact that it is currently being marketed for 9-year-olds. So far, 15,037 girls have reported adverse side effects from Gardasil to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), and this number only reflects parents who underwent the hurdles required for reporting adverse reactions. 44 girls are officially known to have died from these vaccines. The reported side effects include Guillian Barré Syndrome (paralysis lasting for years, or permanently – sometimes eventually causing suffocation), lupus, seizures, blood clots, and brain inflammation. According to Dr. Harper, parents are usually not made aware of these risks.
The next physician to step forward to expose Gardasil was Dr. Bernard Dalbergue, a former physician with Merck, who stated, in the April 2014 issue of the French magazine, Principes de Santé, (Health Principles), that Gardasil will become, “the greatest medical scandal of all time” because evidence will prove that the vaccine has absolutely no effect on cervical cancer. He stated further that, “Gardasil’s many adverse effects, which destroys lives and even kills, serves no other purpose than to generate profit for the manufacturers”.
Finally, two virologists, Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, have filed a lawsuit against Gardasil’s manufacturer, Merck. They argue, in their lawsuit, that Merck has defrauded the U.S. public for over 10 years by overstating Gardasil’s effectiveness. The virologists stated that they have “Witnessed firsthand the improper testing and data falsification in which Merck engaged to artificially inflate the vaccine’s efficacy findings.”
It would seem that the Merck pharmaceutical company is being driven less by moral accountability than by profit and a shareholder driven bottom-line.
We have not heard the end of the Gardasil story.
